About the Embassy

The Embassy’s public office is open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am – 12.30 pm.  The Embassy’s telephone lines are open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm  and from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm. 

The Embassy is located in one of Lisbon's main arteries, the Avenida da Liberdade. You will find the Embassy in the Victoria building, on your right hand side as you are going up the avenue towards Marquês de Pombal. (Please see location map further down on this page)

Public Transport 

Several buses and also the metro stop practically outside the Embassy. In both cases, the stop is called "Avenida".

Embassy Out of Hours Service

The Embassy operates an out-of-hours service for Irish citizens requiring emergency assistance at weekends. Alternatively, you may contact the Duty Officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin at +353 (0)1 408 2000.

If you are in need of emergency assistance, please ring the Embassy at +351 213308200 and leave a message on the answering machine which is monitored regularly. The Duty Officer will contact you as soon as possible. When you leave a message, remember to state your name, the nature of the problem, where you are now, and the details of how the Duty Officer can contact you (please leave your mobile phone number, or the phone number of the hotel/hostel where you are staying).
